Italy: Law firms merge to boost Far East practice
Italian law firms Chiomenti and Birindelli merge in Asia
Top Italian law firm Chiomenti has boosted its Chinese presence by merging with Birindelli & Associati, one
of the first Italian law firms to launch in China.
Chiomenti will take over Birindelli’s offices in Shanghai, Hong Kong, Beijing, Singapore, Hanoi and Pyongyong which employ 25 lawyers. Founding partner Luca Birindelli will leave the law to move into private equity work in Asia and Italy.
Chiomenti partner Luigi Bendi will oversee the intergration whilst Rome partner Ferigo Foscari will manage the Hong Kong office.
Lawyers at the firm welcomed the merger saying it would reinforce their presence in Asia.
