NI: Paddy Power takeover of McGranagahan Bookmakers
Latest Discussion
Belfast firm O Reilly Stewart and Dublin firm Arthur Cox presided over the £19 million takeover of McGranagahan Bookmakers by Paddy Power, Ireland’s largest bookmakers.
The transfer of the eight McGranagahan premises gives Paddy Power a substantial stake in the Northern Ireland market after recent acquisitions in this field by Ladbrokes and William Hill.
Corporate lawyer Linus Murray headed the O Reilly Stewart team whilst Arthur Cox lawyer Rowan White represented Paddy Power.
O Reilly Stewart managing partner Brian Stewart said the M& A lawyers completed the deal “within two months following lots of late nights.”
The Belfast law firm has won a number of other appointments, joining the NI panel of Barclays Bank, being appointed solicitors to the Northern Ireland Legal Services Commission and the NI Planning Appeals Commission.
